Joplin's Java is the new music venue Waukegan has been waiting for! Never before has music been so up close and personal. The musicians share a very intimate experience with the audience just like jazz clubs from the past. Our capacity crowd is roughly 50, so plan ahead and call us or use the bottom of each entry to send us a reservation for that specific event if you wish to.

Fri, May 23 The Sammie Torres Quartet J A Z Z 7PM - 10PM Sammie Torres and his friends are going to be storming the stage on Friday, May 23rd. Describing their Latin Jazz as a "nice bouquet of music," they promise to get the room rockin'. Each of the group's members works on their own side-projects, so this resulting fusion of influences is guaranteed to produce a fresh, full sound. Sammie Torres heads up the percussion, Tony Meadores plays a mean bass, Rick Castanedo rocks both the guitar and vocals and special guest Gian Ferme Luca will be rocking a different angle of the guitar and vocals.
