One of the most popular groups to perform at Joplin's Java, Edgar Gabriel's StringFusion, is an exciting jazz fusion ensemble from Chicago. With former Cirque du Soleil electric violinist Edgar Gabriel at the helm, this group fuses elements of rock, classical and world music into its intelligent entertaining character. While StringFusion has plenty of original material, they also play the great music of Jean-Luc Ponty, Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Cirque du Soleil and much more. We're glad to host such an upbeat, high-energy, and virtuoso group as StringFusion.

To kick off the show, the excellent jazz pianist Jim Holman will play a short set. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh's jazz program, Jim has been performing in the city's finest jazz clubs for years. Make sure to come and check him out!
